All of us are scared of card skimmers at the pump and checkout counters... Now you can use this to ensure your always safe. Simple insert/tap before using your card and verify for yourself!! What Is Hunter Cat? Hunter Cat is a card skimmer and card cloner detector by Electronic Cats. It checks the number of magnetic stripe reader heads inside a card reader — an ATM, a gas station pump, or a payment terminal — before you insert your own bank card. To use it, you insert and remove Hunter Cat the same way you would a normal card; it reads the reader in about a second and reports the result on 3 onboard LEDs: Ok, Warning, or Dangerous. It runs on a single CR2032 coin-cell battery and needs no app, firmware, or setup — it is plug-and-play. Hunter Cat is meant for consumers checking a reader they are about to use themselves, not for testing devices they do not own. ATMs (cash machines) Gas station pump card readers. Payment terminals (point-of-sale card readers). Standalone: no app or setup, one CR2032 coin cell In the box Hunter Cat device Printed user manual Electronic Cats sticker BATTERY SOLD SEPARATELY Catch a Skimmer Before You Pay One customer used Hunter Cat at a gas station in San Diego and found a real skimmer before ever inserting their bank card — then posted online asking Electronic Cats to help get the device out to more people. Insert Hunter Cat first, read the result on the LEDs, and only insert your own card once the reader checks out. Make Checking the Reader a Habit One customer has used Hunter Cat for more than 4 months: no reader ever came back Dangerous, and one reader triggered a Warning three times, so they paid with cash instead of risking their card. Make it a habit: insert and remove Hunter Cat, read the LEDs, then decide whether your own card goes in. When the ATM Slot Expects a Chip Card Some ATMs only open their card slot when they sense a chip card. Hunter Cat has four small metal contacts on its front that mimic one, so the slot opens for it too; the contacts carry no power or signal. Insert it, remove it, and read the 3 LEDs (Ok, Warning or Dangerous) before your own card goes in.
